As TomTom’s SVP Engineering Maps, Michael drives our Maps Platform strategy, bringing us closer to our goal of engineering the smartest, most useful map of the planet. Michael is passionate about improving people’s lives through location-aware technology and believes it will take the world to map the world. That is why he is leading the effort to transform the mapping industry and drive collaboration in mapmaking by bringing the world's resources together, to share and work on a better map. To this end, Michael represents TomTom as a founding member of the Steering Committee of the Overture Maps Foundation. Joining TomTom in 2021, Michael brings a wealth of mapmaking experience. Prior to TomTom, he spent 15 years leading engineering teams at both Microsoft and Amazon.
