Paul S Addison PhD is the Chief Scientist for Data Science and AI in Medtronic’s Acute Care & Monitoring division where he is the subject matter expert across various key patient monitoring technologies. He is the technical lead for AI and Algorithm development as well as AI landscaping and IP generation activities in the business. Paul is a Medtronic Bakken Fellow and joined the company in 2008 through the acquisition of CardioDigital, a UK biomedical start-up he co-founded which specialized in novel signal processing techniques for ECG, blood pressure and pulse oximetry. He holds a masters in engineering and a doctoral degree in fluid mechanics. He has worked on an extensive range of biosignals and non-contact monitoring vision technologies and is inventor on over 200 US Patents as well many published articles in the area and two textbooks.
