Towards a New Ambition for Franco-German Cooperation in AI
In a context where Europe faces accelerating technological shifts and rising global competition, France and Germany are deepening their collaboration to strengthen the continent’s leadership in artificial intelligence. Building on a longstanding partnership formalized in 2020, Inria and DFKI have developed a rich ecosystem of joint initiatives — from collaborative research projects and shared scientific events to contributions to major European programmes.
This fireside chat will explore how the two institutions are working together to address key challenges in AI, spanning trustworthy and human-centred AI, data spaces, quantum technologies, and cybersecurity. It will also highlight how enhanced cross-border cooperation can reinforce Europe’s technological sovereignty, connect national ecosystems, and create new opportunities for scientific excellence, innovation, and industrial impact.
