Description
Bruno Sportisse is the Chairman and CEO of Inria, Member of the Advisory Board European Innovation Council (EIC), Chairman of the European node of the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C).
Bruno Sportisse's career in both the public and private sectors has been characterised by innovation and digital technology.
He has worked in R&D for major corporations (Aérospatiale, EDF), served as CEO of a medium-sized medical company, and co-founded and served as CEO of an AI start-up.
In the public sector, he managed R&I before joining ministerial offices. At European level, he participated in the design of the European Innovation Council (EIC), where he served on the Board from 2019 to 2023. He also chairs the European node of the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). Bruno Sportisse has been CEO of Inria since July 2018, with his term renewed in 2023. The strategy he is implementing is based on strengthening digital sovereignty, supporting the French digital ecosystem and building interfaces between public research and this ecosystem for greater collective impact.
